Because we have a great Enrichment Program , I thought it would be fun to post some enrichment games you can make for your dog at home:  Image: Yes Missy The Muffin Tin Game is somewhat like Hide-and-Go-Seek, but with treats instead of humans. It's pretty simple and easy to put together. You just grab a muffin pan, and place a few treats in random indentations in the pan. Then, place tennis balls over all the indentations. Let's face it, dog toys are fun for you and your dog. But they are not only fun, but they are also a necessity. Toys provide comfort and fight boredom in your dog. They can also be used in training to provide mental and physical stimulation to ward off undesirable behaviors in your beloved four-legged family member. When dogs are not provided toys in the household, they will often find other objects to use as toys. Often, the items they choose will be things that you do not want destroyed or huge safety risks. We will be reviewing some new toys this month: Beco Pets! This is not a Bark City image. I stole it from Beco Pets website. Just so ya all know.  Beco Pets was named one of the world's most ethical companies in 2017 and are dedicated to developing the most fun, innovative and ethical pet products on the shelf. They have a wide product range and develop a variety of items: Sustainable wild-caught dog food, dog beds, biodegradable poop bags, bowls and toys. In addition, there is also the Beco Foundation that gives 5% back to local communities, animal and environmental causes.  Reading up on their website, I could write this blog about their wild boar food or bamboo feeding bowls, but instead we are going to focus on their toys. Have you ever witnessed a dog DESTROY a toy in what seems like less than a second? Imagine how many toys a doggy daycare could go through in just a day! Not us. We use a special toy from local West Paw Design . These toys are made from a material called Zogoflex. Zogoflex lasts a long, long time. They bounce, float, bend and stretch (great for tug-of-war, fetch and swimming!). They are BPA-free, phthalate-free, non-toxic and FDA compliant. Eventually these toys do start to break down.
